  • Vintages & Types

The wines of Chateau Milord are distinguished by their finesse and elegance which characterise great wines. The terroir of limestone with asterias (alike St Emilion plateau) on which the vines are cultivated gives the wine a singularity recognizable by the chalky finish. It is the roots of the vines perforating the limestone slab that allows for this uniqueness. This usually translates into a soft attack, a coating mid-palate and a suave and fresh finish. This terroir also absorbs the effects of climate change and above all respects the balance between alcohol, acid and tannins. The harvest dates are calculated as close as possible to the optimum maturity of the grapes. Each grape variety, each geological entity is vinified separately. The extraction alternates traditional winding and turbo-pigeage (Burgundy soft extraction). The idea is to respect each batch’s identity and avoid over extraction.
